Being sensitive often has a negative connotation, especially in a world where masculine energy has been prized more than our feminine counterpart for quite some time. But sensitivity! As a sensitive soul, I have learned to see it as a superpower. My intuition guides me where to go and who/ what to avoid. I sense when things aren’t quite right in my surroundings. On a deeper level I seem to be deeply connected and receive what I believe is a deeper truth than often what is presented on the surface. I see beauty in its heightened state, books become life, and love makes my eyes swell with water. I see magic and can connect with it.
Being sensitive can be taxing. Maybe you can relate. Being around people and easily tapping into their energy and overall being along with feeling circumstances, situations, and vibes, can stay with you and can often be confusing as your own energy … even when it isn’t.
I felt like this today.
And then I went out into the garden.
I stepped into nature.
And I felt my energy cleared.
So I thought, what other ways do I naturally cleanse my energy? I wanted to share with you and was wondering if you are a sensitive soul as well? And if you are, what ways do you clear your energy? What ways do you reset and align with your truth?
Here are some strategies that help me to cleanse and clear my energy when I feel as though I become clouded by outside influences:
Take an epsom salt bath. I believe in the cleansing properties of water and often feel their healing affects. Taking a bath not only has the ability to wash away unwanted energy, but it is an opportunity to unwind, reset, and calm your nervous system. Adding epsom salts and/or essential oils can heighten calming/ therapeutic effects.
Selenite. A crystal that I use almost daily. I keep my selenite wand at my altar and wave it around me to clear energy and reset anytime during the day. I’m unsure whether its the crystal itself, the intention of taking time to clear, or both that has an impact for me … but it has been helpful.
Alone time. If you relate as being a sensitive soul, it can be taxing to be around other people too much of the time. Recognize when it is best to carve out a few moments or several hours to sit with yourself and tap into your own wisdom and healing.
Nature. Gardening, taking walk outside, planting your bare feet on the ground, camping, and spending time at the beach are some of the many ways you clear energy by spending time in nature. Being in nature and listening to yourself and the wisdom of the natural around you is a game changer.
Get out of town. This is one of my favorites. Either hopping to a nearby town on a whim or taking a vacation can help you to open your eyes and reset your senses. Engaging with new surroundings, landscape, energy, and people can bring you into the present moment rather easily.
The next time you feel unsure, overly affected by others, and/or overwhelmed … maybe ask yourself, ‘What do I need to cleanse my energy and give myself a good self-care reset?’
