Earlier this month I had the opportunity to host a group of women to welcome the new moon, connect with one another, and explore a bit about our connection to the moon as women.
These women inspired me so much.
What they had to say. Their challenges. Their truth. Their curiosities.
As women, we experience roughly the same hormonal cycle as the moon’s lunar cycle. Many women experience a hormonal cycle 28-30 days and the lunar cycle is 29.5 days. We are sensitive and intuitive beings that have the superpower of being divinely aligned + connected with nature.
Its actually pretty cool.
Looking to the moon for guidance, we can learn more about ourselves as well.
For instance, the full moon is a time of heightened energy, of celebration. If you are connected to the moon you may feel more energetic around this time; you may also feel as though challenges in your life have come to a peak of intensity. The full moon is an intense time overall. And as we step into the waning moon (as the full moon begins to lose light) many may have a sense of letting go and needing more rest and solitude.
It is so informative and exciting because the moon teaches us that as women, we do not have to be in summer all day every day. We do not have to and shouldn’t be at our peak energy constantly. We cycle. We shift.
Our natural way is to cycle through being in an energetic, getting things done state (often waxing + full moon) and then looking to rest and look within for deeper wisdom. (often waning + new/dark moon)
The moon gives us a guide for balance; a guide for coming home to ourselves.
Its the full moon today.
One suggestion I have is to start to notice. Notice where the moon is. Notice if you think you have to show up the same every day, day after day. If you are setting an unrealistic standard for yourself that you must be + feel the same, day in and day out.
Because you don’t.
Give yourself the permission to look a little deeper with curiosity of who you are as a woman. And what that means to you.
If this topic of the moon, feeling more connected with yourself, nature, and other women resonates with you, I would love for you to join me at my next moon gathering in April. (You can learn more here) This time we are gathering on the full moon and know it will be so, so great.
But for now, if you feel called, start to notice and give yourself room to be at all different phases and embrace that femininity and wisdom.
