I'll take the risk of sounding rather hippy dippy and talk about vibration. Stay with me.
Simply put, your personal vibration is the frequency of your energy. To me, being able to raise your vibration means to feel more uplifted and in a more positive state hence allowing like things + feelings to be attracted to you.
Have you ever heard the saying when it rains it pours? I know I have experienced it before. When I feel down in the dumps, so many other things seem to be going wrong as well. But when I feel on top of the world? It is as though the whole universe is conspiring in my favor.
You may attribute this to your perspective, focus, law of attraction, or many other beliefs, but what I know for sure is that we all want to feel better and live in an uplifted state. So here are my go to ways to raise your vibration and feel more positive, uplifted, and energetic in your life.
Music. Playing tunes in your home or in the car that help you feel happy and relaxed are a simple to implement tool. Instrumental music is great for when you are feeling stressed, fun pop-y music can help bring you out of a depressed mood. And during this time of year, holiday music always elicits sentimental + cozy feelings. I have been adding to this holiday playlist from last year that I hope you will enjoy. If hard to shake negative thoughts are clouding your mind, try tuning into an inspiring or uplifting podcast to change your thought patterns. I love the ever so gentle Feel Good Effect as well as Oprah's Super Soul Conversations.
Daydreaming. Dreaming is probably the most powerful tool I have found in changing your vibrational state. Take time to write down what a perfect day looks like or how you want a specific holiday to look and feel. To imagine these dreams will help shift your energy to match the energy of the situation. For example, if you imagine how you might fail a test or fear you will be scolded or judged, you will also feel more stressed and less joy. Hence your vibration will be lowered. But on the flipside, if you dream about going on your dream vacation and being out to a romantic dinner with your significant other, you will feel giddy and more joyous. Your vibration has just elevated. Whoever said daydreaming was a waste of time hasn't feel the powerful effects it can have on your life.
Focus. I love these lyrics from Mumford & Sons: "Where you invest your love, you invest your life." Those words have spoken to me so deeply from the second I first heard them. Because, where you put your focus, your love, it is where you live. If you focus on what never is good enough, this will become how you feel and view your world. But if you can practice focusing on your dreams, on all you have, and where you are blessed in your life, this becomes your experience. And this becomes your life.
Gratitude. Focus and gratitude go hand in hand, but I think they are so important they are worth addressing separately. Maybe, just maybe, someone who doesn't understand gratitude will be inspired by focus, and vice versa. Implementing a gratitude practice in your daily routine will not only change your vibration, it has the power to change your life. When you make a habit of being grateful, listing all the things that go your way, writing all that you have... do you know what you are not doing? Mulling over what is not right, what is imperfect, and how situations and feelings could be different. Look for the blessings in your life and they start to appear in multitudes. Rest. We all go and do a lot. But from my experience, the most effective way to raise your vibration? It is allowing yourself to rest and be still. To recharge your body and mind. When you allow yourself to recharge, your body feels happy and more energetic, thus making it easier to feel uplifted and see and feel all the beauty in your life. When we go too much and too fast, we miss all the gems that have plopped themselves right in our path.
Much love to each and every one of you. And happy almost December!
