What if we were to focus on the greatness of others, instead of holding onto to their imperfections and their less than perfect qualities? How would your life be different?

As humans, we have both areas where we excel and other places where we could greatly improve. And no one is the exception to this rule.

At one point, I had people in my life that plucked out every ounce of negative quality they saw in others. They focused on the less that perfect and that always struck a chord with me. I didn't want to focus on where people failed, I wanted to see where people did well and how they excelled. I wanted, and still do, to see where people are beautiful and where joy is and where happiness lies. This is the focus that I choose when looking at others; much more often at least than choosing to see their shortcomings.

I have learned that how you see the world is how you see yourself. When you search for 'less than' qualities in others you see that in yourself. And when you see the beauty that is all around you, you experience beauty that resides in yourself as well.

I believe fully in the that where you focus your energy in your life, this is what your world becomes. If you focus your energy on what is not enough, and that your husband could do more, and that your job is bore; this becomes your experience. Your life becomes unfulfilling, less than optimal, and leaves you always wanting more. But, when we can shift our focus to the love in our lives, to the shelter over our head, and to the coziness of our home, to the simple pleasures we are lucky enough to hold, to the good that surrounds us; our entire experience becomes one of abundance and this is how we begin to live.

And in reality, both ups and downs are true. In reality, our lives have both negative and positive aspects. But the beauty of focus, is that we get to create our personal reality. We get to create what we experience.

There are infinite things in our world to focus on. INFINITE. There is the intracacy of nature that surrounds us, the tragedy in the news that is heart-breaking, the people, the relationships, the jobs, the roles… everything that surrounds us is truly infinite. And we cannot see it all. So we must focus on a selective bit and choose what we want to see. So, where we choose to focus, this becomes our experience, and thus, the way we live our lives.

Nothing is wrong. We are all learning. But, how are you choosing to focus your attention? Is it making your happy? Do you try and see the beauty all around you? Or do you have a habit of seeing where people go wrong, what could be better, or who could be different? It is your decision to make; how you see the world. You can see in through an infinite number of lenses, and it is up to you to chose the focus.

What do you want to be the focus of your life? Where do you want to pay more attention in order to feel happy, fulfilled, and whole? What are you over the moon grateful for?
