How to Have Your Best Year Yet

Happiest of Holidays everyone. I hope you are having a great time celebrating and making memories. Since 2016 is next week (!), I wanted to touch a little bit about upon how to make your upcoming year an amazing one. There is so much talk about resolutions and starting fresh, but it takes more than just thought for your dreams to become a reality. I am a huge believer in sending your wishes out into the universe in order to see them become a reality. But how do you do this effectively? Here are a few ways to close this year and set up for 2016, to make it fulfilling, prosperous, and down right amazing.

1. Bringing In & Letting Go Jars

The power of the writing down intentions, thoughts, and goals always blows my mind.  It is powerful! Take an hour to try this exercise. Go to a place where you feel relaxed, cozy, and inspired. Take two empty jars, a sharpie, and a bunch of small scraps of paper. On one jar write "Letting Go" and on the other "Bringing In." Take a few breathes, slow down, and focus. Visualize what you are ready to release from your life. Maybe it is a negative relationship, a habit you no longer want, or a feeling. Write it down (don't rush through this exercise) and visualize whatever it might be that you wrote down gone from your life. Put it in the  "Legging Go" jar. When you are finished repeat the same process with the "Bringing In" jar, but write down and visualize the things you want to add to your life.  It is a fun and reflective exercise... and it is very interesting to see what materializes when you review the contents of your jars in one year's time.

2. Dreambook and/or Writing in your Planner
I've mentioned this dreambook and planner a few times before. And its simply because I really believe in it. It is a place to start manifesting and planning what you want to come into reality in one year, ten years, and throughout your lifetime. This book is one part reflective/dreaming/visualizing and the next is starting the fulfillment of these dreams by keeping you on task and focused to achieve what you really desire. I get excited about this planner every time I use it and highly recommend it to anyone. If you do not have or plan to purchase this dreambook and planner, keeping a regular planner and journal is hugely beneficial as well. It allows you to take time and further and deepen the relationship you have with yourself.

3.  Do More of What You Enjoy.
Instead of setting goals and resolutions that are really quite difficult, make it a priority to tune in and do more of what you love. What do you genuinely look forward to? For me its essential oil baths, date nights with my husband, cafe dates with my girlfriends, and walks in nature. Its generally after these activities that I feel most inspired and most in tune with my truth. Sometimes our culture leads us to believe that doing things the hard way  will bring us success. Its just not so. Listening to your intuition and what you truly enjoy is our best way to expand, make a better life, and evolve into your best person. When you follow what you truly enjoy, you are listening to your soul and spirit. And that don't lie. Make enjoyment a priority for 2016, and watch miraculous things unfold.

4. Take Care of Your Body.
Do you want amazing things for your life? Well start taking care of yourself. Eat more wholesome foods, take time to unwind, and start walking outside. When you take care of you, you in turn have the energy and brightness to start tackling what you really want from your life. Take care of yourself, feel better, and do amazing things. I can't wait to see what they are. For me, eating whole foods the majority of the time is a game changer. Since I have a small baby at home and am working, it sometimes get tricky to have enough energy. It basically comes down to eating right and giving my body maximum nutrients so I can manage my busy life and stay happy. Incorporating a green smoothie into your day is one of the simplest and most effective dietary additions to can incorporate into your life. Below is a recipe for my favorite green smoothie. It takes about 5 minutes to make and you feel amazing. Its the best way to start the day.
