So here's the thing. I started writing this month's wellness roundup, and while I thought of some nice ideas to share with you, it felt more like I was scraping for things to share. I was finding myself wanting to follow through with the monthly roundup just for the sake of following through. Not because I genuinely felt excited or inspired. Not because I authentically felt in sync with the information. Not because I knew you would love or be motivated by my words or the links. I felt myself pushing through, just for the sake of doing what was expected.
Halfway through typing the post, I realized I would rather skip the post altogether than send you something that didn't feel quite right about. Something that l wasn't all that excited about sharing with you. I am finding this inkling pop up in other areas of my life as well. I would rather do something, anything, rather than nothing at all. Even if it doesn't feel quite right. Even if it lacks authenticity. I would rather be busy doing, than sit still. I would rather look productive, than connect with where my heart is guiding me.
And while being consistent has its advantages, I think its important to acknowledge the eb and the flow of life. To acknowledge what doesn't feel quite right sometimes. To acknowledge that sometimes we aren't perfectly inspired, consistent, or going to always come through as expected. And its ok. To acknowledge that I am not defined by the number of tasks I accomplish, and not even by how well I do them, but with how aligned they all feel with my soul.
In the constant do and do and go, at the end of summer I am easing into the slow, simpler moments. To me this may look like a slightly messier home. An unplanned blog post . Simpler meals and recipes. So that is what I decided to share.
Cashew Dill + Garlic Sauce
3/4 cup raw cashews, soaked for at least 4 hours
1/2 cup water
juice of 1 1/2 lemons
3 garlic cloves
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1/8 cup fresh dill, packed
fresh pepper to taste
Blend everything together in a high speed blender. Toss with salads, pour on salmon (its super yummy with salmon!), dip cucumbers in it, top off bowls... this sauce is fresh, summery, and ever so deliciously simple.
What do you feels right to you today?
