The summer is a time of light, and a time of major shifts to take hold. I am so grateful for the tools, the people, and the resources that I have discovered this season to support me in elevating and evolving my self-care, my relationships, and my day to day experience.
I have shared below what has been ever so inspiring and helpful for me, in hopes that these resources may bring about positive shifts for you as well. And I would love to hear what has proved to move you to a lighter, brighter place in your life recently.
I hope these late summer moments are embraced, cherished, and enjoyed by you all. Xo
The Inspiration
Free + Native. Lacy Phillips is the women behind this powerful manifestation content, but I have been utilizing some of her tools to help heal old wounds and up my awareness around daily triggers. And it has been fascinating. Her work helps you to retrain your subconscious thinking to attract great circumstances into your life and uplevel your self-worth. So far, I can recommend her Reparent program and the Daily Reprogramming as well. If you are looking to gain insight and make some major shifts in a new way, I definitely recommend taking a deeper look.
Ylang-ylang. The flowery scent of this essential oil has helped me reconnect to my femininity and has been making an appearance in my baths, daily face oil, and diffuser. Energetically, it has uplifting effects on mood and helps elevate joy. It is also an antiseptic (great for cuts), aphrodisiac (great for romance), and strengthens your nervous system (great for stress). Overall, it is simply great.
Whole Beauty by Shiva Rose. The lady behind the Local Rose blog has created such a beautiful book combining beauty, spirituality, and nourishment. I love her down to earth and approachable voice that makes rituals both an attainable and beautiful way to move through life.
Goop Podcast with Mark Hyman. As someone who has been interested in food as a means of healing and upleveling for nearly a decade, I am generally curious about what others have to say regarding food, well-being, and lifestyle. Mark Hyman has such a welcoming and approachable mindset, so if you think of yourself as more middle of the road when it comes to wellness, this podcast is an encouraging listen.
My altar. Almost daily I sit in front of a small corner in my room filled with sage, candles, pictures, angel decks. My altar is a way I keep a daily spiritual practice. I don't feel attracted to most religions, so building my own devotional practice is huge for me. The past several months I have sat by my altar and felt contentedness, cried uncontrolably, asked for help, and felt through it all. I most always feel better after I drop in, connect, and breath in this energetic place I have constructed. A great way to step into your own personal power and connect with the divine.
Connecting with women. I have been lucky enough to gather a handful of times with truly amazing women. Over dinner, under the moon, welcoming the solstice ... the times that I spend with new and old friends are some of the most transformative and healing moments. I am thankful over and over again for the women who show their beautiful hearts in my life.
The Da Vinci Code. I read and loved this book back when I was a teenager, but re-reading it in my thirties has literally changed my life. Not only is this historical fiction a suspenceful and entertaining read, but Dan Brown makes huge points of bringing into discussion the balance between masculine + feminine, the roots of Christianity + Paganism, and so much more. This fascinating book has probably had the largest impact on me this summer.
If you missed Nourish 360's Women's Summer Solstice Gathering back in June, check out the video below put together by the beautiful Rosie Leek of Fit & Flexy. It was such a magical evening and I can't wait to update you on the next dinner for the winter solstice happening in December.
What has been inspiring you this summer?
