We set the clocks forward. And with it I feel the beginning of a new season. The time of spring.
But before moving forward, I have to say thank you to winter. Before welcoming the blossoms, new life, sunshine showers, and candy filled egg hunts …. thank you. Read More
How in this world do we stay true to ourselves?
To come to know who we are, our values, what drives us?
Most mornings when my 3 year old is up early enough to catch me doing my makeup, he is so excited to join in. Bronzer and a brush are his favorite.
My brain fast forward to 10 years in the future. When he may feel embarrassed to engage in such fun, just because he’s a boy.
The silly rules the world teaches us. Read More
I wanted to pop in and wish you a beautiful start to the holidays.
As we are inevitably doing a lot of rushing and doing, I also wanted to remind you that December, that winter, is a time of quiet. Its a time when we naturally want to look inward, and with the darker days around us, we can reflect and let go of anything that is not in alignment with our soul. Read More
Since as long as I can remember, I have had an affinity for coziness. All things, people, and surroundings that helped me feel warm, comfy, and safe were amongst my favorite. My most beloved.
Entering youth and adulthood, it was so depressing that most things I found surrounding health were the antithesis of feeling cozy. Punishing exercise, guilt ridden food beliefs (so long cozy evenings baking with mom) , and strangely air brushed pictures on magazine covers that that left me comparing myself to other women. Ick!
I don't believe wellbeing should be any of those things. It shouldn't be rooted in what you shouldn't have, it should be rooted in all that supports you in feeling well. There shouldn't be a focus of push until you can't, but rather listening to what helps you thrive. Wellbeing should, above all else, feel good. Read More
The close of every year is one of my most coveted times. Especially the week after Christmas. The merriment and celebrations have transpired and their joy lingers in heart. I wanted to give you a context to create your own magical end of the year wrap up. A small piece of time set aside to set big, powerful, and intentional plans into action. Read More
This past month I have set my intention to be one of focus.
I, for a long while, have known in my mind that where my focus is in my life is also what my experience becomes. If my focus lies in gratitude, all that I have, creating, loving, and enjoying; well of course this is my reality and my heart is full. But on the other side, if my focus is zoomed in on how things could be different, how situations are unfair, and on my own imperfections and my life's imperfections ... well, this become the lens I see my life through. Here are some of the things I love. What are some of yours?
- The first fall chill down my spine after a string of warm + sunny days.
- Starting a Sunday with cozy pjs, fuzzy blankets, and a good read.
Looking at the months as they roll by, some do so in a light, feathery way, while others appear in a more crashing and thunderous manner. But whatever we are moving through in our personal lives, we can always dive within and look how we can be a bit better at not only managing what is thrown our way, but how to move through with more grace and grow amongst the beauty as well as the struggle. Who are you at your core? And what do you truly believe?
