Who are you at your core? And what do you truly believe?
The past couple weeks have been intense with a lot of emotion. People are visibly affected by the outcome of our 2016 presidential election. There are a wide variety of feelings... and they are palpable and powerful.
And while I honor and understand how many are strongly feeling and reacting regarding the 2016 election results, I welcome you to take a powerful approach that does not involve anger, disgust, negativity, or fear. Because, who stands in the position of leading our country, does not lead our day to day lives. Influence? Yes. Control? No. Because the greatest impact on your life is an inside job. It starts with you. So regardless of whether you are happy, sad, angry, elated about who won the election; I invite you to dive into your values. To live a life aligned with what you truly believe and to make great impact from that place. Because that is what shapes your day to day. Your beliefs. Your core values. How you decide to live. So, what do you believe? And how do you want to live your life? How do you want to live today and in this moment?
Here is what I believe:
I believe my day to day actions deeply impact my world. How I think. How I treat others. The others I choose to surround myself with. How I choose to spend my money and what I buy. The type of energy that I bring. All of that matters. And it has an immense effect on the world. Through the ripple effect and through direct impact.
I believe in love and being kind. And that this type of being always will find its way to the top.
I believe in family. That by creating a safe, positive, supportive, and loving home my children in turn will reverberate those values into the world tenfold.
I believe in eating wholesome, local, organic foods. Most of the time. And always having a bit of room to indulge... and to really enjoy it.
I believe in beauty. And when I take time to relish the beauty in others and in the small moments around me, I see that same beauty deep within myself.
I believe in seeing the good in others. Because there is so much of it. In everyone.
I believe in connecting with nature. And disconnecting from that which is not serving me to grow and live a happy and simple life.
I believe that if life is a big game of follow the leader, the leader is joy. And if that sounds corny to you, I don't mind. Because to me, it is authentic and true.
I believe in making my life less busy and living more intentionally.
I believe that everything will be ok. And although sometimes life will be hard and sometimes it will be joyous; it will all be ok.
I believe in me. And my infinite potential. And yours too. To do good and inspire and to live a great life; however you may be inspired to do so.
I actually do not believe that big change is made by a check mark on a ballot. I believe the big change happens in the way we believe and act in our daily lives. I believe the choices I make, how I inform myself, and the way I carry myself in this life is the big change. We are lucky enough to have a lot of freedom and a ton of choice. And how we choose to use these gifts impacts everyone around us; it greatly impacts our world as we know it.
And those are my beliefs. Those beliefs make up my core values. They make up my thoughts and who I am and how I conduct my life. They make up my vision of today and have an immense effect on the people and the world around me. The way I put these values to work may not always look perfect; because I am not perfect. But the more I live from the place of my personal belief system, the more I shift my world to become what I want to see. And that my friends, is powerful.
Take this time to connect to what your core values are. What do you believe? Share them with others by talking about them but mostly just by living them in the most authentic, fiercest way possible.
And dear friends, a few updates with some resources to best support you this holiday!
1. Coming up on November 25th I will be putting the two versions of 'A Guided Journal For Your Day' on sale. I wanted to participate in Black Friday, but with a twist. I want to give you all the space and opportunity to connect more deeply with yourself as we head into the holidays. It is so easy to lose sight of our values during the holidays and what you wish to truly experience + feel. But investing a small bit of money and time into connecting deeper with your thoughts and innate wisdom is a wonderful way to kickstart the holiday. Think about bypassing a frantic weekend of shopping and cozying up at home with your family, friend, and self to deeper nourish you. And since journaling is such an amazing way to connect within, I wanted to give you an extra special reason to sit and care for yourself. A Guided Journal For Your Day comes in an ebook version (that will be on sale for only $5!) and a printed + e-book version. (This combo will be $16 including shipping) Both make wonderful holiday gifts for yourself and others. The sale will be live Friday, November 25th through Sunday, November 27th.
2. If you are local to the central coast of California, I am hosting a Nourish 360 Holiday Survival Afternoon Retreat at CarmelBarre on Sunday December 18th. It will be a three hour long retreat to create space to give back to yourself and fine tune your health during the holidays. The intention of this class is to create space and time for you to retreat and recenter during the holidays. To destress and realign with with health, well-being, and enjoyment for the holiday season. The holidays can often spiral into stressful and unhealthy times, so please make some space for yourself to join us in December to gather, connect with our community, reflect on our values, sip tea, meditate, take a mini barre class, journal, and more. It will be a relaxing and nourishing holiday class and I hope to see you there.
